KISS FM's Summer Starter with Havana Brown

Photobucket

Saturday May 19th at Exit will be 96.1 Kiss FM's official Summer Starter party. I will be on the decks all night with my dude DJ Scottro on the mic! We will have prizes and giveaways all night. Also we will be having a performance and short DJ set by Havana Brown.  Havana is an international recording artist and her newest song with Pitbull is a banger in the club. Be sure to check her out when she is in town!

DJ Beatsreet at Exit Pittsburgh

Last Friday the homie DJ Beatsreet traveled from Philly to come hang and rock out at Exit with me.

Beatsreet is a super clean DJ from Philly. He rocks venues all over Philly and the Northeast and is also on air with Wired 96.5 in Philly.  We grubbed some Primanties before the show and then hit the club.  Beatsreet dropped an awesome upbeat set and we consumed some Patron! Late night we met up with Pete Butta and McFly for the cut session. Beatstreet will be back this summer to rock with us again so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

I have a handful of friends that have started throwing these awesome parties in Pittsburgh called FukDat. Currently the parties are monthly, on Monday nights. These parties are really fun and unique.  This past party featured a DJ Wheel Of Death loaded up with 10 awesome DJs and took place at Villa.  The night began with some drinks and warm-up tunes by FukDat Party's own, Pete Butta and ended with DJ Strobe's all vinyl classic house set. We literally heard every type of genre imaginable that night with 8 DJs dropping dope mini sets.  Thanks again to Nugget, Mike, Pete, Bonics, and Katie.  These parties are the shit!

It's been a busy month with the launch of the new club, Exit. The venue is located in the historic Strip District and features 3 floors, 4 bars, a huge dance floor, incredible lighting and it connects to Static (our all EDM club) through an interior door.  Both clubs for 1 cover.  Music is all upbeat, dance, top 40 and we have some really big guests stopping through this summer!  Be sure to come check it out!

Jimmy D's Pittsburgh

Photobucket

My weekend residency Jimmy D's went under some heavy renovations this year. When it was all said and done they had literally upgraded or replaced every single aspect of the club, explanded the building, added new lighting, sound, and sub-woofers that literally shake the room. It's a great spot that attracts great people every weekend. One thing I can say for sure is that we throw a party! If you haven't been to Jimmy D's on a weekend night you NEED to make your way down there. The nights are always high energy and full of good people. Here's some pics below!

3rd Annual DJ AM Memorial Benefit

Photobucket

On October 5th we celebrated the life of the great DJ A.M. For those that don't know, DJ A.M. was one of the more famous DJ's in the past decade. His style was one that would change nightclub DJing forever. AM was never afraid to cross genres and play all kinds of music, he truly started the newest trend of "open format" DJing. The first time I saw AM play was about 4 years ago at Pure Las Vegas. It was right around the time I was pursuing nightclub gigs and seeing him perform changed everything for me. I had never seen a DJ play Brand Nubian, AC/DC, White Stripes, Madonna etc. all in one night, let alone at a classy, top of the line Vegas hot spot. I was amazed. Since that first time I was lucky enough to catch about 3 or 4 DJ AM sets and every one was as impressive as the first. He truly was one of the greatest and he will be missed!

Shouts to DJ Digital Dave for putting everything together, we had over 30 DJs participate and play tribute sets! I was very impressed with the sets that some of the DJs put together, it was really cool to see everyone interpret a "tribute" set a little bit differently. Below are some pics from the event courtesy of DJ Bonics. Be sure to peep his blog too! www.djbonics.com
